Using and Understanding the NEPA Process — This workshop (NEPA 101) was designed and developed primarily for the new environmental employee who has no experience with NEPA. The four-day workshop provides A-Z coverage of basic NEPA topics, NEPA case law, and provides specific tools, checklists, and strategies for addressing NEPA issues that are common to Environmental Assessment or Environmental Impact Statement analysis.
NEPA Analysis and Document preparation — This course is taught in two formats. They can be taught separately or jointly as a five day workshop.
This two-day workshop was designed and developed for individuals writing their first NEPA document. It includes an overview of the NEPA process recommends and various tools to insure the legal sufficiency of the analysis and the documentation for a proposed action.
This four-day workshop is a hands-on application of the NEPA process. The goals are to take a “real world” proposed action and prepare a detailed extended outline covering all the important issues that can be developed directly into an Environmental Assessments.
Reviewing NEPA Documents: For decision makers, NEPA Ninjas or other reviewers. This two-day workshop lays out a procedure and provides tools that facilitate the review process and insures the legal sufficiency of a NEPA analysis. These guidelines are based on the Council on Environmental Quality and US Environmental Protection Agency guidance for NEPA analyses and interpretation of the pertinent NEPA case law as it has been applied to NEPA documentation.
Cumulative Impacts Analysis This three and a half-day workshop provides a step by step process for identifying cumulative effects and is based on the methods of analysis contained in the Council on Environmental Quality and the US Environmental Protection Agency guidance.
Becoming a NEPA Ninja! This workshop is designed for individuals with prior experience with NEPA. It is tailored to the specific needs of the sponsor. It typically includes advance issues such as impact analysis, determining significance, cumulative impact analysis, NEPA case law, understanding the differences between EAs and EISs, the different and separate roles of CEQ and EPA and new developments
